"The Round Mound of Sound"

May 27, 1931 - August 4, 1987

Kenny Price was on "Hee Haw" from 1976 until his untimely death from heart failure in 1987. He was born James Kenneth Price in Florence, KY. Kenny was a big man, over 6 feet tall and weighing around 300 pounds, who wasn't afraid to laugh at himself a little. He had several hits in the 1960's before joining the cast of "Hee Haw." He was probably best known on the show as part of the "Hee Haw Gospel Quartet" and also as one of the poor fellows moaning about "gloom, despair and agony." He was "Kenny Honey," the father on the spinoff "Hee Haw Honeys." Outside of "Hee Haw," he hosted a travel show on TNN called "Wish You Were Here" with his wife Donna.

There is a good bio on the Century of Country website.

Here is a link to a photo of Kenny Price - wearing "Hee Haw" overalls, no less!

E-mail me if you know of more Kenny Price information.
