John Henry Faulk

John Henry Faulk was a well-known Southern storyteller before he hit the Hee Haw set in 1978. He had been a CBS radio personality before he was blacklisted in the 1950's after speculation that he was a Communist. On Hee Haw, his contributions were more humorous than political, as he mixed historical material with stories of "the folks back home." Home, for Faulk, was a farm in Madisonville, Texas. He left the show in the early 1980's due to failing health, and died in 1990 at the age of 76.
